These are the people I have to rely on

But I can still only laugh - Canada's immigration minister resigns.
The funniest part of this: Sgro quit after learning that the pizza shop owner had filed an affidavit which accused Sgro of offering him help to stay in Canada in return for pizza deliveries and assistance with her election campaign.

I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT HER PIZZA!! SOMEONE HELP ME!! THIS IS INSANITY!!

What kind of pizza? I would have MADE her pizza!
So she liked pizza and strippers. Surprised this immigration minister was a woman!

CANADIAN IMMIGRATION RANT

I am so frustrated with this whole immigration process. We sent in every single form, every single photo, every single damn thing needed for the family permanent resident visa in MAY 2004! In July, my husband and I both received letters from the Consulate General in Buffalo stating they had all the information and were going to process the information. In December, my husband asked someone who worked in government in Ottawa to check on the status. He heard that they were waiting for our medical records. WE SENT OUR MEDICAL RECORDS IN MAY!!! THEY HAVE HAD THEM SINCE MAY! THE GODDAM PEOPLE AT IMMIGRATION NEVER NOTIFIED US THAT THEY NEEDED MEDICAL RECORDS! THEY HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THIS FOR 6 MONTHS WITHOUT INFORMING ME THEY NEEDED THE INFORMATION!!
Today I went to a doctor here in Toronto to get all the medical tests done again. Hopefully, this time the idiots at immigration won't lose the files. I don't have a lot of faith. In fact, I have no faith. I believe the dumbest people in the world are too intelligent for immigration Canada employment. Think of all the curse words you know and apply them to those morons for me, please.
RANT ENDED, for now.

Went to see The Aviator last night. Thought it was really good, but had to move seats halfway through because of these really annoying people next to me. The girl kept talking to her boyfriend and he kept laughing really loudly at EVERYTHING! He especially would laugh if he heard someone else laugh, so I started getting self-conscious about laughing out loud cause I knew he would join in. I mean, come on, the guy even laughed at the stupid breath mint ad where the guy's head freezes and falls off. Give me a break!!

I have bad luck in movies, so this was normal. There was an empty seat on my husband's other side, so I moved there. Better than getting into a fight with people at the movies!

Anyway, The Aviator was really good. I didn't even mind that it was long. It was interesting, because besides the reclusive eccentric millionaire bit, I knew little about Hughes. Loved Cate Blanchett as Katherine Hepburn. She really seemed like her.

More movies I want to see - Ray, Million Dollar Baby and Hotel Rwanda. Hotel Rwanda doesn't hit Toronto for a few more weeks, but that looks like a good one.

Happy New Year

Had a great New Year's Eve. We went to Didier on Yonge Street for a prix fixe 7 course dinner with wine pairings. I think my favorite course was the venison (perfectly cooked!) with poached pear, celeriac and fried fig. YUM! The dessert course of delicious Valronha chocolate was appreciated as well. Didier is a new restaurant on Yonge, and they are definitely more focused on the food than the service. Our waitress was very nice, but more suited to a relaxed environment than a fine dining place. For the price of our meal, we expected a higher level of service. I would go back for the delicious food. Maybe they will work out the kinks in the service as they get more comfortable.

New Year's Day. Didn't leave home. Spent the day on the couch - we took turns playing Fable on XBOX. Addictive.

One more day til the work week. Not that that applies to me. Fucking Canadian immigration.
